Customers may need more persuasion for going with the OS, at which Microsoft is failing right now. Only time will tell if Windows 8.1 will make any impact; as of now the entire series of Windows 8 is hardly making any traction.
Windows 7 is performing well, so why would any enterprise opt for the Windows 8 OS? When Microsoft rolled out the Windows 8, many CIOs opted against it and ignored it completely. Now many are left wondering if Microsoft will ever make a strong comeback from this blunder.
Windows 8 needs to make a huge comeback else Microsoft might lose more of customer satisfaction, which is already in decline thanks to Android and Apple. Windows 8 faced as much criticism as Windows Vista got when it was released. This clearly proves that Microsoft has still not gotten a grasp of the customers’ needs. They owe it to loyal customers to come up with something better. Only time will tell if Windows 8.1 is a valid success at being just that.
