Repairing Microsoft Mail


Windows Mail helps you to send and receive email messages, and to these you can attach files and perform many more functions. However, like other email applications, Microsoft Mail encounters occasional problems. If you encounter such problems within Windows Mail, it is possible to get them fixed without contacting a technician for help. You might sometimes find it difficult to send and receive email messages, or to open email attachments. It is also possible to get these problems solved by contacting the Microsoft Chat support team.

Instructions to solve issues related to sending or receiving emails

Open the web browser that you have on your computer, and get connected to the internet.
Click on the Start button on your desktop, and click on All Programs.
Select Windows Mail, and select Tools and then Accounts.
Select the email account to connect to, and choose Properties.
Select the Servers tab. Check whether the information provided by the email provider matches with the information in the server. If you find any variations, change the information according to your email provider’s instructions.
Select OK and click Close.
Select Send/Receive in Windows Mail.

Instructions to enable secure email connection

Select Start and select All programs.
Select Windows Mail, then Tools and then Accounts.
Under Mail, choose your email account, and click Properties, followed by Advanced.
From Incoming or Outgoing Mail, choose The server requires a secure connection. Select OK and click Close.
Select Send/Receive in Windows Mail.

Verification for sending email

Select Start and select All programs.
Select Windows Mail and select Tools and select Accounts.
Select the email account that you find under Mail and open Properties.
Select the Servers tab. Select the My server requires authentication that you find under Outgoing Mail server. Select OK and select Close.
Select Send/Receive that you find in Windows Mail.

Permit blocked attachments

Select Start and click on All programs.
Select Windows Mail.
Select Tools under Windows Mail and select Options.
Now choose the Security tab and uncheck the Do not allow attachments box, and select OK.
Try to open the attachment. If you can’t, download a program that can open it.
