Troubleshooting The Script Errors In Internet Explorer

Old is gold! So is the Windows 98. Third generation computers have replaced the traditional Windows 98 machine with more advanced and improved operating system such as Windows 8, Mac OS and Linux, but there are still computers that run on Windows 98 operating system. In fact this operating system also has the basic programs such as command prompt, internet explorer and the office suites which tempt the users that require minimal systems to carry on with Windows 98 to perform their activities. However, windows 98 can also end up in the “error zone”. Script errors are one of the common errors that many Windows 98 users have to contend with. These errors come about when you attempt to open folders in "Web view" type. Microsoft windows tech support doesn’t offer support to troubleshoot errors in Windows 98 machines as the operating system is obviously outdated, so just hang on to these instructions to eradicate script errors on your system.
Instructions
Repair Internet-based Script Errors
Bring up the startup menu by clicking on the "Start" tab and then move towards the "Settings" tab to open up the "Control Panel” tab.
Find the "Internet" tab and click on it twice to launch.
Tag along the "Fonts" tab that is enclosed within the "General" tab.
Now go for the tab with the tag "Western" that lies inside the "Character Sets" menu to bring up the window which holds "Set as Default" tab and then hit on "OK" tab.
Opt for the "Delete Files" tab in the "General" and trigger the "OK" tab.
Either get the internet explorer SP1 (service pack) or replace it with a new copy. You can download the installation file from the download section of the Windows tech support website.
Repair web-based script errors
Tag on the "Start" button to reveal the "Windows Explorer" tab.
Identify the folder that shows the script error message and Navigate to that destination by typing in the address in the address bar.
Hit on the "View" tab to pick out the "Customize This Folder" tab enclosed within it and then go for the tab with the tag "Remove Customization".
Go for these tabs respectively, "Next" and then "Finish".
If the script error still endures on your Windows 98 machine? You will then have to reinstall the operating system entirely. You may also want to think of upgrading to a new OS in the meantime.
